Calling All Friends & Family!

The time has finally arrived – tomorrow, the 990 lavender plants we ordered months ago will ship from the grower in Oregon due to arrive at the farm by Thursday.  We’re all very excited, though a bit daunted, about getting this many plants in the ground so we’re putting out the call to our friends and family to join us for a planting party!

Over the generations, it has been customary for communities of people to come together to complete a project, most famously a barn raising, to help their neighbors accomplish a goal and ultimately improving the community they live in.  We’d love to have you join us in this day of cooperation and camaraderie.  Here’s the pertinent info:

Date:  Sunday, May 29th

Time:  9am until you just can’t plant one more…

Location:  The Lamm Farm

We suggest that you wear clothes that can get dirty (pants are better than shorts), closed toe shoes, work gloves, a hat (don’t forget the sunscreen!) and a lawn chair.  If you have a favorite digging trowel, feel free to bring it, but we will have plenty to share.  We will provide a BBQ lunch and beverages.

As a special thank you to all of our helpers, you will each get to select a lavender plant in our field to be named in your honor.  We’ll give you a little placard on a stake with your name on it to be placed next to your favorite plant.

Please send us an email or comment below to let us know if you’ll be joining us.  Hope to see you on Sunday!
