About

The Lamm Family

The Lamm Family Farm is an enterprise of three generations of an average California family.  (Well maybe not too average!)  Some of us live on the farm; some of us live in traditional suburban neighborhoods.  Most of us are working at careers away from the farm, while contributing time, money and skills as needed, to make the farm go.   Melissa is doing the hardest job….raising the babies to take over when it is their turn!

What is The Lamm Farm?  Twelve Acres of rolling, oak studded foothills outside of Lincoln, California.  Traditionally a farm is considered to be smaller than a ranch; providing a larger variety of crops or activities.  We are certainly smaller than most ranches, and it will take a large variety of products for this farm to be profitable.   In times gone by, a family farm provided a sustainable lifestyle that may or may not have provided much money, but it supported the family and frequently that family included multiple generations, like us.  That is our goal on The Lamm Farm.  We are exploring agricultural products that can be profitable without requiring hundreds or thousands of acres.  We are looking at evolving marketing opportunities like those found on the Internet; Farmers Markets; and Direct marketing.  We are looking at On-The- Farm activities that will allow us to be more involved in the community; provide agricultural experiences and education to more urban customers and to bring some or our urban skills into the mix, like Photography, Event Planning or Arts and Crafts.   We are looking to sustain the Family in Lifestyle and Sustenance; providing an escape from our urban activities and  a foundation that includes hard work for the younger generation.  This Blog is intended to share our evolution with  Family, Friends and Future Customers.  Please check back often to see how we are doing and to share your comments on our activities.  Join us in this new adventure called:

THE LAMM FARM

I love what you are doing at the Lamm Farm! Its so great to see what everyone is doing these days. My Mom and Dad started a ranch egg business as well as managing the cow/calf operation at the old Stevens Ranch. Funny how we always seem to come back to the lifestyle we never knew we missed….

    thanks.

Thank you for asking. We are not open to the public at this time and the blooms are done for the season. Keep watching the blog and we will announce bloom progress next season.

Did not realize you were so close Amy. I shall add you to the blog list. I am jealous of your 12 acres, but at the same time, having owned an acre or two in my day, I realize the kind of hard work that land brings (not to mention rattlesnakes). Sorry to hear about your doggy. A cash crop that would probably do well in your area is Mandarins. You’ve got the room for them.
